Data Talks from Youcubed

NASA Data Talks Sea Level Rise encourages students to consider the causes and consequences of warming oceans using a dataset that starts in 1880. Land Temperature presents multiple visual representations of data and asks students to compare and discuss them. Appropriate for grades 6-10.

Burger Data Talk Another new data talk on an environmental issue is BUNbelievable! The Hidden Thirst of a Burger, which asks students to consider the water required to produce the ingredients of a typical hamburger. Appropriate for grades 6-12.

IA-NCSM Learning Series

The Iowa Affiliate of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (IA-NCSM) is a great way for all Iowa math teacher leaders, instructional coaches, district specialists or administrators to connect with other job-alikes and discuss best practices in mathematics at the state and national level.

Join IA-NCSM on February 21 from 4:15-5:00 PM for the second of six discussions "Using Mathematics Coaching to Strengthen Mathematics Instruction." Future virtual discussions will be on March 20, April 17, and May 8. These will not be recorded but the slide-decks will be made available.
