All ICTM members, who teach in Iowa, are eligible to apply for a grant listed below. Please note that previous recipients of the ICTM and NCTM Conference Grants are not eligible to re-apply for those grants.
Members of the Iowa Council of Teachers of Mathematics may request funding up to $750 for professional learning or a project that supports access & equity for all students or is linked to the Iowa Core Mathematical Content and Practice Standards or the 8 Effective Teaching Practices.
ICTM Teaching & Learning Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis and will be awarded quarterly up to $6,000 per calendar year.
ICTM Conference Grant
ICTM will award two grants of up to $400 each to support an ICTM member's attendance at the ICTM Annual Conference. This grant can be used to help pay registration and travel expenses (transportation, hotel, and food up to $25/diem). This grant is designed to help teachers increase student achievement in mathematics by enhancing instructional methods through new learning at the ICTM conference.
Recipients are to write a short newsletter (300 - 500 words) article describing their experience and any valuable takeaways from the conference or make a series (3 - 5) of short (around 1 minute) video “commercials” sharing their experiences at the conference and using key takeaways. (Please do not video student faces). Recipients are also requested to share from the conference using the hashtag #IowaMathTeach.
ICTM Conference Grant applications are due August 31.
NCTM Conference Grant
ICTM offers a grant to help a member attend an NCTM annual meeting and conference. The grant is intended to offset the cost of attendance, making it more feasible for members to participate in this valuable professional development opportunity.
ICTM members who have never attended the NCTM conference are especially encouraged to apply.
The grant will be paid in two installments. Both require receipts to be submitted to ictmgrants@gmail.com.
The first installment will reimburse the recipient for the cost of early-bird conference registration as soon as the payment is made and the receipt is submitted.
The second installment will be reimbursement of up to $1200 for travel, hotel, and meals (no alcohol). Again, payment will be made once the receipts are submitted and information about the experience has been shared.
NCTM Conference Grant applications are due June 30.
